On a windy day, I have been steeped in the study of the idea that, as Christ-Followers, we are to be “One Anothers.” I’m finding that it means we are to be individual strands that come together to form a strong cable. We are to be interdependent. As such, we are also to be encouragers.
I love the change in seasons. It is a thing that causes me not to seek to live where season never change. If nothing else, the seasons are a continual reminder that nothing stays the same.
When we speak of seasons of life, we are usually referring to changing stages of life and development. The same is true in our spiritual lives. There was a season when we walked in darkness. But, if you have committed your life to Christ, you are now in a New Season. A season of light, and life, in Christ. Which brings with it a spiritual awareness. An awareness that, there are some things that should never change. One of them being, our responsibility to encourage one another.
When is the last time you have been an encouragement someone? Sure, you could drop an image or a quote on social media, which is fine and good. However, it does not negate the need to encourage somebody in the flesh. In fact, it is commanded of us. If you haven’t encouraged someone in the flesh recently, now is the season to do it. If you have encouraged someone in the flesh lately, good job! Keep on doing it!
“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”
(1 Thessalonians 5:11)
Just an encouraging thought, from the Heart and Mind of Victor.
